Texas Premier
single skill level class for motorcycles built in 1971 and earlier
Vintage dual skill level class for motorcycles built in 1975 and earlier
Vintage Over-40 single skill level class for riders over 40 on any Vintage legal motorcycle
Vintage Over-50 single skill level class for riders over 50 on any Vintage legal motorcycle

Vintage Over-60 single skill level class for riders over 60 on any Vintage legal motorcycle (2010)

Vintage Small Bore single skill level class for motorcycles 0-200cc built in 1975 and earlier
Texas Four Stroke single skill level class for four stroke motorcycles built in 1975 and earlier

With the exception of the two small bore classes, engine size does not matter.   You can enter a 125, a 250, or a 500cc bike in any other class.

 

In regard to skill level, we use A and B as the designation. A riders are riders who have raced as experts or have won money in the past, and faster intermediates. B riders are novice and less accomplished intermediates.

SECTION 1

CLASSES AND MOTORCYCLE ELIGIBILITY

1.1 THE TEXAS PREMIER CLASS INCLUDES ALL MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED IN 1971 AND EARLIER. TEXAS PREMIER CLASS IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS. EXAMPLES OF THESE INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

ALL B-50 POWERED MOTORCYCLES

ALL RICKMAN BUILT MOTORCYCLES WITH 1971 OR EARLIER ENGINE

ALL CZ BUILT MOTORCYCLES WITH 1971 STYLE FRAMES

ALL VINTAGE CLASS RULES APPLY

1.2 THE TEXAS VINTAGE CLASS INCLUDES ALL MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED IN 1975 AND EARLIER. REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1.2.1 SUSPENSION TRAVEL OR AXLE TRAVEL IS LIMITED TO 7" ON THE FRONT FORKS AND 4" OF AXLE TRAVEL IN THE REAR.

1.2.2 ALL MODIFICATIONS MUST BE CONSISTENT WITH THE CLASS AND TIME PERIOD.

1.2.3 FRAMES, FORKS, ENGINES, ECT. MUST BE PRODUCED IN 1975 OR EARLIER.

1.3 THE TEXAS SMALL BORE CLASS INCLUDES ALL 0-200 CC MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED IN 1975 AND EARLIER. ALL VINTAGE CLASS RULES APPLY. TEXAS SMALL BORE IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS.

1.4 THE TEXAS FOUR STROKE CLASS INCLUDES ALL FOUR STROKE MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED IN 1975 AND EARLIER. TEXAS FOUR STROKE IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS. ALL VINTAGE CLASS RULES APPLY. EXCEPTIONS ARE TT-500 YAMAHAS, SP370 SUZUKIS, AND CENTER INTAKE PORT XL-350 HONDAS. THESE ARE INCLUDED, HOWEVER ALL VINTAGE CLASS RULES APPLY.

1.5 THE GP I CLASS INCLUDES ALL MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED AND INCLUDING THE YEAR MODEL 1977.

1.5.1 THE GP II CLASS CONSISTS OF ALL MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED AND INCLUDING THE YEAR MODEL 1981.

1.5.2 THE GP III CLASS CONSISTS OF ALL MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED AFTER THE YEAR MODEL 1981 WITH DRUM BRAKES. ALL POST VINTAGE BIKES 1981 AND EARLIER ALSO QUALIFY FOR THIS CLASS.

1.5.3 THE GP SMALL BORE CLASS CONSISTS OF ALL MOTORCYCLES PRODUCED AND INCLUDING THE YEAR 1981 200cc AND LESS. GP SMALL BORE IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS.

1.5.4 ALL ENGINES MUST BE AIR COOLED(EXCEPT GP III), NO DISC BRAKES ARE ALLOWED EXCEPT ON ROKON MODELS.

1.6 NO LATER MODEL FRAMES, FORKS, OR ENGINES MAY BE USED UNLESS THEY ARE IDENTICAL TO WHAT WAS AVAILABLE IN THE YEAR DESIGNATION OF THESE CLASSES. ANY LEVEL BIKE QUALIFIES FOR ANY CLASS ABOVE ITS OWN LEVEL.

1.7 THE DECADE CLASS CONSISTS OF BIKES MADE IN THE MODEL YEAR 10 YEARS PREVIOUS TO THE CURRENT DATE AND OLDER. EXAMPLE: ON JANUARY 1st, 2016, A 2006 YZ450F WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE DECADE CLASS. DECADE IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS.

1.8 VINTAGE OVER-40 IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS FOR RIDERS 40 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ON ANY VINTAGE LEGAL MOTORCYCLE.

1.9 VINTAGE OVER 50 IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS FOR RIDERS 50 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ON ANY VINTAGE LEGAL MOTORCYCLE.

1.10 VINTAGE OVER 60 IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS FOR RIDERS 60 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ON ANY VINTAGE LEGAL MOTORCYCLE.(2010)

1.11 GP OVER 40 IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS FOR RIDERS 40 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ON ANY GPIII LEGAL AND OLDER MOTORCYCLE.

1.12 GP OVER 50 IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS FOR RIDERS 50 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ON ANY GPIII LEGAL AND OLDER MOTORCYCLE.

1.13 GP OVER 60 IS A SINGLE ABILITY LEVEL CLASS FOR RIDERS 60 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ON ANY GPIII LEGAL AND OLDER MOTORCYCLE.(2010)


 

SECTION 2

TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND SAFETY

2.1 ALL MODIFICATIONS MUST BE CONSISTENT WITH CLASS AND PERIOD.

2.2 EVERY MEMBER OF TVRC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT EQUIPMENT IS IN PROPER REPAIR.

2.3 TVRC MEMBERS SHALL OBEY ALL POSTED RACETRACK RULES AND PRACTICE GOOD SAFETY HABITS WHILE ENGAGED IN COMPETITION.

2.4 CENTER AND/OR SIDE STANDS ARE NOT PERMITTED AND MUST BE REMOVED.

2.5 ALL TWO STROKE MACHINES MUST BE FITTED WITH EFFICIENT SILENCERS. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS PREMIER MACHINES FITTED WITH BLOOIE PIPES.

2.6 ALL MACHINES MUST DISPLAY THREE NUMBER PLATES, ONE MOUNTED ON THE FRONT AND ONE ON EACH SIDE MOUNTED IN A WAY THAT IT WILL NOT BE BLOCKED BY THE RIDER.

 


SECTION 3

RIDER ELIGIBILITY AND RACING NUMBERS

3.1 NO RIDER MAY SIGN UP AS A "B" LEVEL RIDER AT HIS OR HER FIRST RACE. YOU MUST SIGN UP AS AN "A", AND THEN BE OBSERVED BY THE OFFICERS. A DECISION WILL THEN BE MADE BASED UPON RIDER ABILITY.

3.2 ABILITY CATEGORIES ARE "A" AND "B". ADVANCED SKILL LEVEL RIDERS WILL BE PLACED IN THE "A" CATEGORY. ANY SIZE MOTORCYCLE MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR PARTICIPATION AS LONG AS IT COMPLIES WITH T.V.R.C. GUIDELINES PUBLISHED IN THIS RULE BOOK.

3.3 A RIDER MAY MOVE UP A SKILL LEVEL AT THEIR DISCRETION. A RIDER MAY MOVE DOWN A SKILL LEVEL ONLY WITH T.V.R.C. OFFICER’S PERMISSION.

3.4 TVRC MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THEIR AHRMA ASSIGNED RACE NUMBER. IF NO AHRMA NUMBER IS ASSIGNED, THEY SHOULD USE THE NUMBER OF THEIR PREFERENCE.

NOTE* THE RIDER, NOT THE MOTORCYCLE IS THE ENTRY. A RIDER MAY SWITCH MOTORCYCLES AS LONG AS THE MOTORCYCLE’S NUMBER IS THE SAME. OTHERWISE IT IS ELIGIBLE FOR PROTEST. IT IS THE RIDER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE SCOREKEEPER TRACKSIDE AND THE SECRETARY OF T.V.R.C WHEN THERE IS A CHANGE OF NUMBER. THIS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED MOTO.

 


SECTION 4

SCORING

4.1 SCORING FOR DAILY OVERALLS

THE OLYMPIC SCORING METHOD IS USED FOR EACH MOTO:

1 POINT FOR FIRST, 2 POINTS FOR SECOND, 3 POINTS FOR THIRD, ETC. LOW SCORE WINS. LAST MOTO WILL BREAK A TIE.

4.1.1 SERIES SCORING

SERIES SCORING WILL BE By Moto AS FOLLOWS:

20 POINTS FOR FIRST, 16 POINTS FOR SECOND, 13 POINTS FOR THIRD, 11 POINTS FOR FOURTH, 9 POINTS FOR FIFTH, 7 POINTS FOR SIXTH, 6 POINTS FOR SEVENTH, 5 POINTS FOR EIGHTH, 4POINTS FOR NINTH, 3 POINTS FOR TENTH, 2 POINTS ELEVENTH AND ETC

2 POINTS FOR DID NOT FINISH (DNF)

1 POINT FOR DID NOT START (DNS)*

* THIS SCORING IS FOR SHOWING UP AT THE TRACK TO RACE AND UNABLE TO START A MOTO FOR WHATEVER REASON.

4.2 SCORING ERRORS MUST BE REPORTED TO T.V.R.C. SECRETARY OR DESIGNEE.

4.3. IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, ONE MOTO WILL DECIDE AN EVENT.

 


SECTION 5

PROTESTS

5.1 A TVRC MEMBER MAY PROTEST A RIDER OR MOTORCYCLE IN HIS OR HER CLASS ONLY. THE PROTEST MUST BE ON THE SAME DAY OF THE EVENT. THE PROTEST PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS:

5.2 THE PROTESTER MUST INFORM THE TECH INSPECTOR OR AN OFFICER OF TVRC, WHICHEVER IS APPLICABLE.

5.3 AN INVESTIGATION WILL BE CONDUCTED IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FACTS CONCERNING THE INCIDENT.

5.4 A DECISION WILL BE RENDERED AND REPORTED TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD.

5.5 THE EXECUTIVE BOARD WILL ENFORCE THE DECISION.


SECTION 6

RULES AND REGULATIONS

6.1 OFFICIALS ARE ELECTED ONCE A YEAR. THEIR POSITIONS AND THEIR DESCRIPTIONS ARE LISTED IN THE CONSTITUTION.

6.2 RULE CHANGES AND CLASS MODIFICATIONS MAY BE DISCUSSED AND VOTED ON UNDER ARTICLE 12 OF THE CONSTITUTION.

6.3 ANNUAL DUES ARE $40.00 AND ARE DUE JANUARY, 1 OF EACH YEAR.


CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 1

THIS CLUB SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE TEXAS VINTAGE RACING CLUB (TVRC).

ARTICLE 2

ACTIVE MEMBERS SHALL BE MOTORCYCLISTS ACTIVELY CONNECTED WITH THE TRADE OR MOTORCYCLE ENTHUSIAST. HONOREE MEMBERS SHALL BE MOTORCYCLE RIDERS, MEMBERS WIVES, MOTORCYCLIST ENTHUSIASTS AND SUCH OTHER PERSONS INTERESTED IN VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE RACING.

ONLY DUES PAYING MEMBERS SHALL BE ENTITLED TO A VOTE (ONE MAN, ONE VOTE) IN ANY CLUB ACTIVITIES OR COMPETITION.

ARTICLE 3

T.V.R.C. MEMBERS SHALL BE: PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, TREASURER, SECRETARY, AND NEWS EDITOR. THESE OFFICERS MAY HOLD MORE THAN ONE OFFICE AND CONSTITUTE THE EXECUTIVE BOARD.

ARTICLE 4

THE DUTIES OF THE PRESIDENT SHALL INCLUDE:

4.1 TO PRESIDE OVER CLUB MEETINGS

4.2 TO HAVE GENERAL SUPERVISION OF CLUB AFFAIRS

4.3 TO APPOINT ANY PERSONS OR COMMITTEES

4.4 TO REPRESENT THE CLUB ON PROPER OCCASIONS AND OR BUSINESS MATTERS

4.5 TO ASSIST ALL OTHER OFFICERS OF THE CLUB IN THEIR RECORDS, CORRESPONDENCE AND OTHER DUTIES

4.6 TO PROMOTE INTEREST IN EACH CLUB MEMBER AND THE PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF T.V.R.C.

4.7 IN THE EVENT AN OFFICER BECOMES INACTIVE, THE PRESIDENT SHALL APPOINT A REPLACEMENT. IN THE EVENT THE PRESIDENT BECOMES INACTIVE OR RESIGNS, THE VICE PRESIDENT WILL ASSUME THE DUTIES AND APPOINT A NEW VICE PRESIDENT.

ARTICLE 5

THE DUTIES OF THE VICE PRESIDENT SHALL BE

5.1 TO CARRY OUT ALL PRESIDENTIAL DUTIES IN THE ABSENCE OF THE PRESIDENT. TO GUIDE, ASSIST, DIRECT, AND CULMINATE ALL DUTIES PERTAINING TO MOTORCYCLE EVENTS AND/OR OTHER CLUB ACTIVITIES: SUCH AS PARTIES, SERIES, BANQUETS, ETC. AS DIRECTED BY THE PRESIDENT.

5.2 TO HAVE POWER OF APPOINTMENTS AS TO DESIGNATE SUCH OFFICERS FOR THE EVENTS AS NEEDED.

ARTICLE 6

THE DUTIES OF THE TREASURER SHALL BE:

6.1 TO COLLECT ALL DUES FROM MEMBERS

6.2 TO COLLECT ALL OTHER MONEYS DUE T.V.R.C.

6.3 TO MAKE PAYMENTS FROM CLUB MONEYS WHEN NECESSARY

6.4 TO KEEP ACCURATE PAYABLE/RECEIVABLE RECORDS

6.5 TO PRESENT A COMPLETE ACCURATE PAYABLE/RECEIVABLE REPORT TO THE CLUB

ARTICLE 7

THE DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY SHALL BE:

7.1 TO RECORD THE MINUTES OF EACH CLUB MEETING

7.2 TO UPDATE ANY CONSTITUTIONAL CHANGES

7.3 TO KEEP ACCURATE INVENTORY OF ALL CLUB MATERIAL PERTAINING TO THE OFFICE

7.4 TO INFORM NEW OFFICERS OF THEIR DUTIES

7.5 MAINTAIN RACE RESULTS FOR ALL RACE STANDINGS

ARTICLE 8

THE DUTIES OF EDITOR SHALL BE:

8.1 TO PRINT A NEWSLETTER EVERY MONTH OF THE RACING SEASON

8.2 TO CORRELATE ALL CLUB AND RACE INFORMATION IN THE NEWSLETTER

8.3 TO PROVIDE RACE COVERAGE INFORMATION TO PUBLICATIONS

8.4 TO MAIL NEWSLETTERS TO ALL MEMBERS AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN RECEIVING T.V.R.C. INFORMATION

8.5 TO KEEP A CURRENT MAILING LISTS OF LETTER RECIPIENTS

ARTICLE 9

THE DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD SHALL BE:

9.1 TO EVALUATE NEW ARTICLES PRESENTED TO THE CLUB

9.2 AT LEAST TWO BOARD MEMBERS ACT AS SIGNERS FOR CLUB CHECKS

ARTICLE 10

ANNUAL ELECTION

10.1 ALL ELECTED OFFICES SHALL BE FILLED AT AN ANNUAL ELECTIONS HELD IN AUGUST OF EACH YEAR. OFFICERS SHALL SERVE SINGLE YEAR TERMS OR UNTIL THEIR SUCCESSORS ARE NAMED

ARTICLE 11

CLUB MEETINGS

11.1 CLUB MEETINGS SHALL BE HELD ON A MONTHLY OR ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS. THE CLUB, BY VOTE, WILL DETERMINE THE MEETING DATE AND LOCATION

ARTICLE 12

QUORUM

12.1 60% OF THE ACTIVE CLUB MEMBERS SHALL CONSTITUTE A QUORUM FOR TRANSACTION OF CLUB BUSINESS

ARTICLE 13

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS

THIS CONSTITUTION MAY BE AMENDED OR ADDED TO WHEN SUCH HAS BEEN PRESENTED TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO PRESENTATION TO CLUB MEMBERS. A 75% VOTE OF ALL MEMBERS PRESENT IS NEEDED AND REQUIRES TO PASS AN AMENDMENT.

CONSTITUTIONAL BY-LAWS

ROBERT’S RULES OF ORDER SHALL GOVERN THE PARLIAMENTARY PROCEEDINGS OF THIS CLUB.

THE ORDER OF BUSINESS SHALL BE:
