John Fricke Spring 1995 The T.V.R.C. was started in 1998 by Jack Thompson and Bill Newkirk one night in Jack’s garage said, you got a nice collection here Jack, lets ride some of these old bikes. The first race was an exhibition race at Mosier Valley night track. It featured Bill Jack and Tom Aylett on a DKW, a Penton and a Husky. The club has since grown to over 100 members and has hosted several vintage nationals as well as several vintage only events all over the state of Texas.

The club runs vintage bikes in several classifications and rider skill levels, (ie. Masters, intermediates, amateur and the vintage classification is any 1975 or earlier machine with no more than 7” of front travel and 4" of rear travel- we also run a small bore class which is 200 cc's or, less and a four stroke class, all of these under the vintage format. Occasionally we also run over 40 years of age (riders that is) and Texas Premier, which is machines 1971 and earlier.

We also run a Gran Prix class which is any 1981 or earlier machine for those of you who prefer a little more suspension.

We supply all of our own awards and we have a monthly newsletter. There is an annual awards banquet and we also elect our officers at that time.

Other activities are scattered throughout the year, such as barbecues, mini bike races etc.

For all of you who remember a Wheelsmith Maico, a mid Valley Cz or a DG Honda, and for those of you who don't please join us. The club is for camaraderie as well as racing. Dig up a strap tanked Yamaha or a Mag Husky and come ride with us!

Our motto is, "T.V.R.C.-Motocross For The Fun Of It!"
