My father is Jerry Nelson. I wanted to tell you I thought it was very
nice that everyone is thinking about him and pulling for him. Riding dirt bikes is his
passion, always has been. He loved being involved in this club. This was not only a hobby
for him but a passion surrounded by dreams. The one thing I love about my father is he
never stops dreaming. I just wanted to say Thank You, and my whole family appreciates the
thoughtfulness of the members of TVRC. My father is very lucky to have such wonderful
people who care about him. Thanks Again.

He never recovered from
the induced coma and died of severe acute
respiratory distress syndrome at Medical City Plano. There is no word on any services at
this time.
Jerry was always a gentleman and loved
our sport the history the machinery and the people. He was a leader and a kind friendly
sharing innovative and entertaining man. He liked Red , Maico, Four Strokes, 7, hole shots
and competition. He began traditions as president of the TVRC that clubs and promoters use
today. He was the first to bring a true vintage celebrity Rick Simon alias Super Hunky
from California to host a TVRC banquet. He was a celebrity in his own rite. Salute!

I just went to the TVRC website for the first time in
months, just to see what was up. I was shocked to read about Jerry Nelson.
That stuff is just not supposed to happen, but I guess it does. When I was
riding with the club at my "personal best", Jerry and I were pretty close in
speed. That made for some memorable battles, and with that comes the rivalry
of competition, but also the fact that that guy that you are swapping places
with all the time is really giving you the most fun that you are having on
the track, no matter if you are fighting for first place or fifteenth.
Although I have been out of action with the club for some years now, there
are many scenes that are burned indelibly into my ever-more haphazard memory
from that brief but intense time, and many of those memories involve Jerry.
So Godspeed, Jerry. Get that Yamamaico started one more time and hope for a
track full of wide, smooth sweepers, Jeff Gibbons
