From the Texas Vintage Racing Club to whom it may concern

Dear Sirs

The TVRC is a club of vintage motorcycle racing enthusiast, primarily motocross, and established in 1988. Our club motto is "Motocross for the Fun of It". While we have always been a non-AMA club most of our members are current members or once were.

Club officers are elected annually and I have been voted President 5 times and currently President.

The overall reaction to joining AMA as a club has been very positive from all members contacted. While the AMA has never been a force in this area in the past the future looks good.

Every merger has to have a goal or reason for it's being. We have as many goals as the AMA, and seeing the TVRC as an AMA club will hopefully fulfill those goals.

The TVRC has some famous lifetime members, Barry Higgins, John Penton, Jack Penton, and Rick Sieman all have seen this club in action and can only approve of our being by the acceptance to TVRC life member status.

Racing events in the past have included joint events with AHRMA in the early 1990's. Due to polotics force by AHRMA and its new regional leader, turmoil and chaos reigned for several years.

The TVRC remained standing when the dust cleared and still stands today. While Texas is no longer an AHRMA region we have been in contact with them for a national in 2002, and AHRMA wants to come back to Texas.

With the TVRC joining the AMA we hope to avoid any future problems that may have occurred in the past. No outlaw national will be run by this club, only AMA sanctioned national events will be run.

The TVRC has run the past few years the "Wyman Priddy Memorial" event, this year will be our 4th year and the race will take place at Lake Whitney Motocross Park an AMA track.

What the members of the TVRC want is to run this event next year as a Vintage National in Texas. Acceptance and approval needs to be granted soon. Time, track and other details can then be coordinated with AHRMA.

As motorcycle riders we share many common interests and goals, all of, which will be better, served with you the AMA.

Protection of our freedom to ride is indeed one most cherished by us all and hopefully the TVRC can provide an additional club to preserve those goals.

Your requirements and ours for events are the same because we based our club rules on AMA/AHRMA rules. Even the newest classes in AHRMA are the same. The reason for our rules being the same is we did it first. The class that AHRMA is running this year the Historic and GP classes we started 8 years ago. AHRMA has copied us for a long time.

Class structure club rules are included in our last TVRC Rule Book.

The TVRC has several local tracks that joined together with other AMA off road clubs will provide great fun and racing for all who attend.

Thank You

The TVRC officers
