Letter from the President (Feb 2000)

Well, we made it through Y2K and I hope that everyone made it through the holidays safe and sound.  I want to thank everyone that came down to the show and worked the booth. Bob Lucas, Gary Moore, Skip Miller, Kurt Roberts and Ken Walden. I would have like to have some more show of members but hopefully we picked up some new members.   I hope that all of you are ready todo some serious racing.  I have been working on the schedule and there are some tracks that have committed to races and some which are still pending.  We do have a challenge from the Missouri Vintage Racing Club so the schedule will be pretty busy for the next 10 months.  Hang on everyone because we are going to have some fun this year if everything falls in place. To get myself out the hot seat, I have another kid, Jason, who rides my bike, which I forgot to mention in my first newsletter. He is not mine by blood but I consider him mine.  He and his wife Lindsey have a new baby and her name is Haley. I hope everyone can make the February 27th race in Burleson because it is going to be a special day for me.  There is going to be a wedding, yes I am getting hitched.  The lady's name is Mary K. and I hope that you will make her feel welcome as she has already been at the Arenacross/Bike show at Fort Worth.  Thanks to Bobby, Skip, Mike, and Ken she already feels like on the the crew.  I hope that everyone can make it.

Letter from the President (Dec 99)

Well, here it is! The Millenium is upon us.  This year has gone by quick. I'm now back at work, my leg (broken in Ohio 7-11-99) is better and I am ready to go racing.   I will have a schedule out shortly.  We will race the Burleson MX 20th anniversary race in February on the 13th or the 27th.  Bobby is working on the Wyman Priddy Memorial event for late March or early April.  We're looking to race at Village Creek, Swan, Lake Whitney, Greenville, Oak Hill, Mosier Valley, and a possible Weatherford race.  We will need some riders to check out Weatherford MX for feedback.   We might look at some night racing at Village Creek and Weatherford.  I'm always looking for new ideas.

How about a cookout on an open date in March or April.  We need a park or lake area with access for everybody!!!
I'm Watching tapes from the last Steamboat AHRMA races.  If you want to watch them, just call me.
Have you ever thought about racing a National. Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid Ohio is July 14, 15, 16.  If you think you want to go you'll need AMA membership, medical membership(yours or AHRMA's) Armor coverage is $75.00 for the race.  I should have my trailer by April and I'll be glad to haul your bike to Ohio.  Ask Bobby or Skip how much fun it is.  We would like a good showing from Texas up there.

I guess I've rattled enough.  I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas and your New Years joyous and safe, and for all you birthday people of November and December a big happy one.
