Wyman Priddy Memorial

ATTENTION RACERS! The King of the Hill Small Bore Trophy Race is coming up very soon.
Again this will happen as a two moto race during the Wyman Priddy Memorial. There is just
a couple of weeks left to get your vintage small bore bike ready and dialed in. I'm
working on mine now, how about you?! Getting to the starting gate is half the battle on a
125! Be sure to have a look at the Vintage Small Bore class rules in the TVRC Rule Book. As of 10/21/04, last
years winner, and current "King of the Hill", Joe Busby, is working with Clay
"KungFugate" on a Maico 125 for the race.
Clay is saving the day for Joe, and putting him on a competitive motorcycle
Bubba Chambers and Mark Brown were at Mosier Valley Sunday with a pair of super clean
KX125s, and are ready to race in November. Bob Lucas is currently trying to make a deal
with David Thompson on a Penton 125. Lets hope he can get it together in time. I've heard
through the grapevine that John Fricke is working on a Honda CR125 , and that Bob McNamara
is still trying to glue the cylinder to the case on his CR125. I was able to work a few of
the bugs out of my TM at Mosier on Sunday, but threw a chain in the first moto, and broke
a few parts. Repairs have already been made! Please email me with any updates you have on
your Vintage Small bore project at chunx@azone.net
As of today, 11/5/04, here is the latest news on our race. Bob Lucas and David Thompson
were able to strike a deal on that 125 Penton, and I delivered it to Bob last week. I'm
not sure that he will get it working in time for the race, but he has no excuse if he's
not there racing it on November 21st. The same night that I delivered the Penton to Bob,
I was able to watch
as Kungfugate and Joe "King of the Hill" Busby meticulously reassembled the
lower end of the Maico 125 they plan to run. All was looking great until they discovered a
"mystery part". Hmm?

I hope its nothing important. I always seem to come out with a few extra parts when
putting engines back together. Don't you? I have heard rumors that local wild man Chris
Barton has set himself up with a Can Am 175. No doubt Chris will be a force to contend
with on a bike like that. Albert Newman emailed to tell me that he is going to make every
effort to be there with a pair of Honda Elsinores', one for himself, the other for friend
Keith Hughes. I hope they make it, we didn't have a single Honda in the race last year.
Dave Allard emailed to tell me that he can run faster than a vintage 125. Dave, I'll give
you a half a lap head start, get going! At this years race, last years top five finishers
should number there bikes accordingly: Joe Busby 1 Scott Andersen 2 Mark Brown 3 Bubba
Chambers 4 David Thompson 5
I look forward to racing with all of you again on the screaming 125's. Get that machine
working now! Scott Andersen 76J |
