September 24 2004
Today is a sad day for T.V.R.C as we have lost a long time supporter of
the sport; Mr. Busby [Joe Busby's father]. Joe tells us that he checked his
dad into the hospital last weekend only to bring him home so he could pass
in the comfort of his own home. Mr. Busby passed away this morning, Friday
Sept. 24,2004 after a brief battle with cancer. Joe was very close to his
dad. Our hearts and prayers go out to Joe and Patty Busby in this time of
grief. Joe will honor his dads wishes to not have a funeral but rather
cremation with his ashes to be spread out over Lake Whitney.
Joe Busby Senior Died today September 24 2004at 6:00A.M. at his
retirement home in Whitney, Texas from bone cancer diagnosed this summer.
Joe was 78 years old and was the favorite father figure of all the TVRC
racers. What we do may not even exist if fathers like Joe didn't take there
son racing that new sport called Motocross in the 60's and 70's and spawn
racers like Jammin' Joe #3. Until the last season Joe came to most DFW races
and now we know why he hasn't been attending as much. He will always be
missed.
