| Just found your page looking for something else but, I have flyers and
pictures of racing in Texas many years ago. My name is Alan Dye and I knew Wyman very
well. I also started racing down ther in 1964, 1968 started racing Moto Cross for Yankee
on an OSSA then got picked to race for Kawasaki. If there are any old riders they should
remember me. Anyway I have some stuff that I could send you to keep and some to make
copies. Send me your address. Alan Dye |
Skip, I got you a pile of stuff. There is flat track stuff
and well you will see. The pictures I need back, the rest is yours. I just sold my
superbike so looks like I am going to step back in time. I am building a couple of vintage
road race bikes and will be looking for an OSSA Phantom to race. We put on a AHRMA
National here each year, The Farm. I have got to see Pomroy, Dick Mann, Rapp, and others I
raced against and want to get back out there. I quit racing right after friends got hurt,
David and Magoo. But now racing on non supercross tracks looks fun.
The stuff is on its way, get some guys together and some beers and look at it. There
are some old cycle news with stuff about Texas. Most stuff I had kept got tossed from my
moms so this is about all that is left. Hang on to them. There are a couple of programs
from Astrodome and from Ross Downs. My mother and step dad are on the right. They were AMA
Official score keepers and got to see a lot. They knew Wyman. Speaking of him...Look at
the poster I sent you and in one of the cycle news there he is making pipes. He also made
plastic fenders.
Have fun, send the pictures back when you get through. The road race stuff is in there
to show you that old racers never die. I started racing at Lake Lavon out of Garland in
1964-65.
Keep in touch, Alan Dye |
