Vintage Tragedy
Jim Pomeroy the 1st American to win a GP in Europe
winner Life TVRC member and supporter has been killed in
an off road Jeep Accident this weekend. Check the
AHRMA discussion board
for some current information.
Fellow Motocross
Brothers,,,,,I have just learned that we have lost an
Icon of our sport,,,,Jim Pomeroy has died in the
mountains near his home while four wheeling,,,,my
prayers go out to his wife, Linda, daughter, and brother
Ron. I will remember Jim as I saw him last week in Ohio
crossing the finish line in first place. I and the TVRC
will miss him very much. He was a true ambassador of the

I have a few photos of Jim from various Texas races.

Pomeroy Lackey 1.jpg" were all taken April 3, 2004 at Diamond Don's
Riverport National. Jim was a great guy who made everyone feel welcome
at
each event. The photo of Jim and I is my personal favorite. It was
taken
at my first AHRMA race. I had never met Jim prior to this photo being
taken. I saw Jim walking by my pit area. I went up and introduced
myself
to Jim and told him it was my first AHRMA race. He put his arm around
me
and thanked me for coming. My nephew Randall Firey took the picture.
At
each event I attended after that, I always looked Jim up and got the
same
warm welcome.
